30-03-2026 - Prototyping time!
Printers are printing at the shop, soldering irons are hot on the bench… it’s production time!The first pieces of the Nitro Hat are ready!
The Final Design After a lot of iteration, the new design is here!
I am so happy with the new design, it’s a big improvement over the first one. Some key changes:
- No more cable between the two parts, one less component that can get damaged over time
- New locking interface to the stand: two extra hidden screws lock the bottom part in place, avoiding mistriggering due to movement
- Bigger springs: the close hi-hat required a lot of force with some stands, now with an even more realistic feeling
- Double velcro straps to avoid spinning.

So what about clutch bolt compatibility?
I will have 4 versions available:
- M12x1.25mm - this seems to cover ~80% of the clutches I found around, most modern stands ship with this.
- M10x1.50 - seems to be common for smaller and older stands
- M12x1.75 and M10x1.25 will also be available for edge cases.
Before shipping I will ask you which model you want, by default I will ship M12x1.25mm. How to check your hi-hat compatibility or which model to buy? -> Check the Hi-Hat Compatibility page For everyone who does not want to bother, I tested some good Gibraltar clutches that are less than 20 EUR online, same page!
Unboxing experience
I found out that the 3D printing shop I use for the Nitro Hat throws away a lot of boxes that are perfectly fine for shipping. So I decided to make the sustainable choice of not having custom boxes. The unboxing experience might feel a little less special, but think about the planet — the Nitro Hat is now made with 100% recycled plastic and reused packaging!
What’s next?
I will be shipping the first units this week, starting with EU drummers — the faster delivery times will allow me to get feedback quickly in case any issues arise. In the meantime I will continue production of the remaining units and will start writing the assembly instructions, coming soon on the Nitro Hat website.
24-03-2026 - Website update
Both Lectronz listing and website have been updated with new pictures (little spoiler of the final version :) and a Hi-Hat compatibility page. PCB have been ordered and should be here next week, I should then have everything needed to start producing the pre-order batch!

so many prototyping hours making sure the Nitro Hat is just right! And I’m not done yet — I’m finishing the final design, made to work even better than what the prototype showed in the pre-order campaign. More info soon!

09-03-2026 - Nitro Hat preorder campaign ended!
We have a successfull preorder campaign with 19 orders. Thank you for everyone joining! In the next few days Lectronz will create the orders, and I will start ordering and production of the new Nitro Hat.

07-03-2026 - Almost there!
2 Days remaining for the Nitro Hat preorder campaign! 19 People signed up, almost double my set minimum, Nice!
I have been working hard behind the scenes in improving the design and make it final before ordering all the components.
Last week I hire a mechanical engineer for consultancy on the product and see what can be improved, he provided me with very good feedback and one by one I implementing it.
The mechanical design will slightly change to make it better, the Nitro Hat will have anchoring bolts to the hi-hat pedal so it will be stable also when playing at higher speeds.
Another great improvement: the cable is gone! Now the hat is in two completely separate parts, one less part that migh break over time due to movement!
26-02-2026 - Nitro Hat works with the Alesis Nitro Pro model
Thanks to Agnese for sending out a Nitro Pro pedal for test.
I can confirm that inside the pedals are identical, only the exterior is different so the Nitro Hat works with the Alesis Nitro Pro.
19-02-2026 - we made it!
I’m happy to share that the minimum amount of pledgers for the Nitro Hat has been reached! The Nitro Hat will happen, there are still 18 days for pre-orderig but I will not lose any time and start preparing for the finalization and production of the first batch! Thank you everyone who is backing me in this project! Keep an eye here for updates!

With 20 days left, we are at 8 pledgers out of the minumum 10! So happy to see people interested. In the meantime I recorded myself testing the Nitro Hat and playing a bit: Watch it here

While the preorder campaign is progressing well, I’m looking at a new hi-hat stand for the Nitro. That’s why I decided to order two very nice stands from Thomann and test them with the hat!
